Invented by George G Blaisdell in 1933, and originally sold for $1.95, Zippo lighters remain iconic to this day. Popular with the US military during WW2 and the Vietnam war, the earlier versions are highly collectable, and the design remains true to form to this day.
In terms of functionality 'windproof' Zippo lighters are able to stay lit in harsh weather, due to the design of the wind-guard and adequate rate of fuel delivery.
